Remembering Mandela    (http://www.commondreams.org/headline/2013/12/06-0)

Nelson Mandela, who died yesterday the 5 of December 2013 at age 95, was a South African anti-apartheid revolutionary who served as President of South Africa from 1994-1999.
During the 1950's, while working as an anti-apartheid lawyer, Mandela was repeatedly arrested for 'seditious activities' and 'treason.' In 1963 he was convicted of sabotage and conspiracy to overthrow the government, and sentenced to life imprisonment. Mandela served 27 years in prison before an international lobbying campaign finally won his release in 1990.
In 1994, Mandela was elected President and formed a Government of National Unity in an attempt to defuse ethnic tensions. As President, he established a new constitution and initiated the Truth and Reconciliation Commission to investigate past human rights abuses and to uncover the truth about crimes of the South African government, using amnesty as a mechanism.
Nelson Mandela was a powerful and inspirational leader who eloquently and forcefully spoke truth to power. As tributes are published over the coming days, the corporate media will paint a sanitized portrait of Mandela that leaves out much of who he was. We expect to see 'safe' Mandela quotes such as "education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world" or "after climbing a great hill, one only finds that there are many more hills to climb."
We wanted to share some Nelson Mandela quotes which we don't expect to read in the corporate media's obituaries:

  1. "A critical, independent and investigative press is the lifeblood of any democracy. The press must be free from state interference. It must have the economic strength to stand up to the blandishments of government officials. It must have sufficient independence from vested interests to be bold and inquiring without fear or favor. It must enjoy the protection of the constitution, so that it can protect our rights as citizens."

  2. "If there is a country that has committed unspeakable atrocities in the world, it is the United States of America. They don't care for human beings."

  3. "The current world financial crisis also starkly reminds us that many of the concepts that guided our sense of how the world and its affairs are best ordered, have suddenly been shown to be wanting.”

  4. "Gandhi rejects the Adam Smith notion of human nature as motivated by self-interest and brute needs and returns us to our spiritual dimension with its impulses for nonviolence, justice and equality. He exposes the fallacy of the claim that everyone can be rich and successful provided they work hard. He points to the millions who work themselves to the bone and still remain hungry."

  5. "There is no doubt that the United States now feels that they are the only superpower in the world and they can do what they like."

  6. “It is said that no one truly knows a nation until one has been inside its jails. A nation should not be judged by how it treats its highest citizens, but its lowest ones.”

  7. “Overcoming poverty is not a task of charity, it is an act of justice. Like Slavery and Apartheid, poverty is not natural. It is man-made and it can be overcome and eradicated by the actions of human beings. Sometimes it falls on a generation to be great. YOU can be that great generation. Let your greatness blossom.”

  8. “We know too well that our freedom is incomplete without the freedom of the Palestinians.”

  9. “No single person can liberate a country. You can only liberate a country if you act as a collective.”

  10. "If the United States of America or Britain is having elections, they don't ask for observers from Africa or from Asia. But when we have elections, they want observers."

  11. “When a man is denied the right to live the life he believes in, he has no choice but to become an outlaw.”

  12. On Gandhi: "From his understanding of wealth and poverty came his understanding of labor and capital, which led him to the solution of trusteeship based on the belief that there is no private ownership of capital; it is given in trust for redistribution and equalization. Similarly, while recognizing differential aptitudes and talents, he holds that these are gifts from God to be used for the collective good."

A beast of burden I am not!
                               To carry others' stuff.
Share yes, help yes, but to shoulder it all - NO.
So says the burro to the sparrow
Who for a lark sends out a spark
of pure delight to the encumbered ass.
Be like me, fly and be free
No cares, no wares, no swears!

It would seem that Earth is the Noah's Ark of this Universe,
 at least our local universe.
Each universal being is represented here it would seem.
We have cats and there are said to be cat like intelligent alien
 beings.
We have dogs and there are said to be dog like alien beings
 walking upright.
So too there are mantids which are insectoid
And raptors and reptoid beings like reptiles here.
And descending in density to the third dimension here these
beings somehow diminished in their capabilities as we human
beings diminished from souls to limited human beings.
Which is why Earth is such a popular planet right now.
All want to be here. All want control of some kind.
All claim ownership of the planet and its human entities and all
 entities.
The human being is unique. He is a product of twelve hierarchies.
As such he is a prized possession and many are fighting for
 ownership of him.
But he does not belong to any one of the many. He is a being in
 his own right.
The human being holds the solution to many of these beings'
problems. He is the synthesis of these many beings. Hence he
demonstrates the unity of all in One.
Earth is a one-stop centre of unity in diversity, a priceless gem.

Throw away holiness and wisdom,
people will be a hundred times happier.
Throw away morality and justice,
and people will do the right thing.
Throw away industry and profit,
and there won’t be any thieves.

If these three aren’t enough,
just stay at the center of the circle
and let all things take their course

                                        -  Lao Tzu

Stop attributing names and shapes to the essentially
nameless and formless, realize that every mode of
perception is subjective, that what is seen or heard,
touched or smelled, felt or thought, expected or
imagined, is in the mind and not in reality, and you
will experience peace and freedom from fear.
                   -   Nisargadatta Maharaj

“Life is what you make it,” this is very true.
Find beauty and magic in all things,
and the Love that sees you through.
When you look at the world where you live,
seek not your gain, but what you can give.
When a man is poor, and hungers, and thirsts,
serve not yourself til you serve this man first.
When a man is down and seeks shelter from cold,

 give him shelter.
You’ll receive blessings untold.
Live by the Golden Rule:
Do unto others as you’d have done unto you.
And always remember:
When you destroy, you destroy a part of you, too.
Life is what you make of it!

I am at that point in my life:
having pursued a spiritual path and left it
having dealt with an emotional issue at home
having read much, listened much and do not
feel the need to follow or do anything
  about anything anymore

I am standing at that point in time when:
 conspiracy theories abound
end world scenarios get bounced around
yet care not that I make it or not
as this debate of those who choose to will make it
is bandied around by new agers
while teachers say those who have progressed will
  make it but many won't
which in my mind has caused a cleavage that
should not be in spiritual eyes

I no longer care it would seem but really now?
It would be more accurate to say I no longer fear
though fear is a natural human emotion
I have stringed along with Teachers and Gurus
In books or in form, eager and willing to change,
 to transmute, transform ...
I have not moved from ground zero!

I let go of all these. I take my stand
I face ALL as I AM; it does not matter one way
 or another.
I don't have to perform for God or the Universe.

TAKE ME AS I AM !!!!!!!

Ground zero hhm?
Outward movement is not how Spirit Speaks
There is nowhere to go, nothing to achieve.
All change is inner change
Of My attitude to the outer me - detachment!
Am I cleaving to the i and its conundrums
It seems so; this tirade is a symptom
Not liberated from the outer
It would seem more attached to it rather
What a pity; the very idea of spiritual growth
is aborted when the outer is confused with the Inner.
So learn to let go and not look to outward manifestations
But onward go - discriminate, waste not time in goings on
in the world which is plenty and never ending
but seek to end your own attachment to the outer self and world.
So let go let go let go.
Of things, of opinions, of judgements,
Of bonds, of fruits of labours done,
Of spiritual growth and rewards.
The result is "I" unencumbered by life.

Mastery

Mastery of Emotions is needed to make it through
the second initiation.
Use the mind to master the emotions.
Experientially I know emotions don't change anything.

Mastery of Mind is needed to make it through
the third inititation.
Have no opinions of anything or anyone and the mind
will be still.
Let go of mental meanderings and focus on one
subject, study, talent, pastime.

There is a war they say for the minds of men.
The mind uses its side-kick, the emotions to ensnare one
in its complicities
Together the duo can also be referred to as the desire mind
or kama manas.
Entangled one tangoes to the beat of the opinionated mind
coupled with seething emotions creating the downward drag
that pulls one deeper into the tentacles of matter.

Let the initiate beware !!

BE - then ACT

You have to be the conduit for Light, Love and
the Will to good to descend before it can radiate
out - in life, in service.

You have to be the pillar of light descending
before it can radiate out through your triangles
work.

So BE first then Act

You will be aware of this poem on your planet ...

There was a young lady called Bright
Who set out at the speed of Light
She set out one day in a relative Way
And arrived the previous Night

 - that is how flexible your reality is.
   Let go of your constructs
Let go of the idea that things have to be done a certain way
Let go of the old idea of who you think you need to be.
Let go of the old ideas of beliefs that do not work for you.
Let go of the things that are not yours; you do not need to
    carry them around
Let go let go let go ...

the quality of the last one third of one's life.

Triangles Work of Lucis Trust

The Triangle work embodies two phases of their work, i.e., the forming of the network of light as the channel of communication between the Hierarchy and Humanity, and the forming simultaneously of the network of goodwill, which is the objective expression of the subjective influence of light.  Ponder on this statement.

What is Love?

Love esoterically understood is that invisible matrix that holds all in perfect relationship with each other governed by laws of physics as applied to the whole universe. Where relationships are anything but perfect there is a breakdown of love. Get love fixed and right relationship results.

But to fix love one has to understand what is LOVE ....

Explaining love as the love of human relationships as in mother/child, man/woman etc is limiting love. Love is what keeps all as a cohesive whole - iron filings held in a certain pattern in a magnetic field, a lizard on the ceiling in direct opposition to gravity, karma is love !! ponder on this...

An excerpt from the Alice Bailey books ...

We get three expressions of love: Love in the Personality, Love in the Ego [soul], and Love in the Monad [spirit]. Love in the Personality is love in the three worlds; love in the Ego is love in the solar system, and all that it contains; while love in the Monad demonstrates a measure of cosmic love, and embraces much that is outside the solar system altogether….as evolution proceeds it shows itself as a gradual expansion of the love faculty, passing through the different stages……Love is not a sentiment or an emotion, nor is it desire or a selfish motive for right action in daily life. Love is the wielding of the force which guides the worlds and which leads to the integration, unity and inclusiveness which impels Deity itself to action. Love is a hard thing to cultivate; it is a difficult thing to apply to all conditions of life, and its expression will demand of you the utmost you have to give, and the stamping out of your selfish personal activities…..the chains of love unite the world of men and the world of forms and they constitute the great chain of the Hierarchy. The spiritual effort you are asked to make is that of developing yourself into a vibrant and powerful centre of that fundamental, universal love.

Love is letting go of fear and expanding one's consciousness to want to see, to know, understand and not judge life unfolding around us. It is learning to go beyond borders stage by stage.... from personal borders - familial borders - racial, religious, national borders - seeing both the dark and light that is in the world and not be in a state of judgement for judgement comes out of fear. To expand one's consciousness beyond the known to the relatively unknown - for information comes as one seeks to know... to see, to know, to accept as is, to understand, to grow...

Love is this expansion of one's consciousness beyond paradigms, boundaries and borders, limits and security checkpoints in one's psyche to the whole ... for creation encompasses the good tending to the bad, the black and white and all shades in between; all held in juxtaposition in this polarity based universe... when one is ready to see all and see the interconnectedness of all into a cohesive whole one is in a state of love - this is a physical phenomena - expressed as love in the self, family, groups, nation, planet, solar system, cosmos - and seeking this love and embracing it entails a journey into continually expanding awareness and consciousness into these realms. So for example to let go of fear to see what is happening in the world and not sitting in judgement of it, to not despair, lose hope, lose faith but to garner and gain understanding detachedly is learning to love regardless... this love saves, this love synthesizes, this love redeems the created worlds - and in accessing this love we access the heart of the Creating Essence. At this Centre we experience Oneness - the Swaroopam of God - Omnipresence, Omnipotence, Omniscience ...

What it means to 'be wise':

The Great Teacher, The Lady of Noble Repute, said to her
devotees, “He who thinks himself wise, proves he is not.
She, who knows herself, is.” A student spoke up. “Teacher,
do you mean to say Man is not wise, or at the very least, not
as wise as Woman?”
The Teacher smiled. “Surely you know I would say no
such thing.” She continued. “Is it wise to think myself wise?
If I know I am wise, I am. Do you now know of what I
speak?”The student replied, “Has it to do with thinking and
knowing?”“Yes. But is that all of which I speak?”
Another spoke, “Perhaps you speak of knowing yourself.”
“Ah. Yes. But what must you know of yourself in order to
be considered wise?”The students looked wide-eyed and
unsure. She took a deep breath. “How long will you not
obtain understanding? To think myself wise is pride and folly.
To know this is wisdom.”“Teacher,” the student interjected,
“If someone is wise, he knows it. But as soon as he knows it,
does he not also think it and then become unwise?” “Again,
to think I am wise is folly. I am wise when I know enough to
know I am not all-wise. Therefore, I am most wise when
I admit I know nothing.”
“How then does one know when he is wise, Great One?”
Another added, “And would the most ignorant among us
then be the wisest?”“Have I come to you proclaiming my
wisdom? Had I proclaimed it, would you have sought me
out to learn of me?”There was silence.
“If I proclaim my wisdom or my goodness, where is my
humility? If I walk in the world showing forth what I know
by my deeds and not my words, am I not wise?
Will others not see and seek such things for themselves?
To think myself wise is to strut like a peacock. To know I
am wise is to ‘be’. Such knowledge will flow from me like
water from a spring. A spring does not think to bubble forth
its essence. It just does. Is that not wise?”
The devotees nodded, smiling.
“Thought is transient; a wisp; imagination. It has no
substance. Knowledge is transcendent; it is power and light
and more a state of ‘be’-ing than a fleeting thought. My
knowing does not require a thought. If I am wise, I am.
What I know makes me wise - but only as far as what I
know. To think I know all, to think I know more than I
know, how is this wise?”
She looked about the room. “Wisdom is intimacy.
Be intimate with what you know as a man is intimate with the
woman he loves. Herein lies knowledge. Herein is wisdom.”
May we all be-come wise.

Much love,
Wind Sister, aka Teresa Crane

Wesak Day 2012
The Great Invocation

From the point of Light within the Mind of God
Let light stream forth into the minds of men.
Let Light descend on Earth.
From the point of Love within the Heart of God
Let love stream forth into the hearts of men.
May Christ return to Earth.
From the centre where the Will of God is known
Let purpose guide the little wills of men –
The purpose which the Masters know and serve.
From the centre which we call the race of men
Let the Plan of Love and Light work out
And may it seal the door where evil dwells.
Let Light and Love and Power restore the Plan on Earth.

When the cows come home to roost....
When the crows moo the dawn of day...
When dogs purr and cats bark ...
shall we see another era begin ...

When the day dawns black and the night lights up
When men stay home to cook
and women bring the buck deer home...
When stars beam during the day
shall we see another story unfold on Earth ...

I think darkness is dark because it doesn't see any light for there is none in it.
So perhaps we should not judge it too harshly but learn to understand and feel
compassion and bring light into it. And so working with bringing light into the
world can  never be wrong or worthless. All light work is worthwhile beyond
measure.

Taking Care of the Heart

The Quandary of the Human Heart

One of the greatest casualties in this process is the human heart. We recognize and sense a deep sadness and despair in the collective human heart. Part of this is due to the disintegration of realities and your attachments to them. After all, what do you build your dreams on when the foundations of your world are crumbling?

Another aspect of this difficulty in the heart has to do with the toxic nature of your planet’s emotional atmosphere. As the solar energies increase, the tensions between polarities become ever more apparent. The polarization of human consciousness between those who would imprison and those who would free the human spirit are becoming clearer and clearer.

We would offer two suggestions as a means to deal with these challenges to your heart.

It is through your heart that new realities are birthed—by this, we mean realities worth living. Our first suggestion may seem overly simplistic, and yet as is often the case, the simplest things are frequently the most powerful. However you do this is not important. What is important is that you create an emotional antidote in yourself to the toxic poisoning of your planet’s emotional atmosphere.

As hatred and intolerance increase, you must find a passage through this darkness. The simplest and most efficient way we know is for you to find the smallest things in your life that you appreciate, and to take a few moments to dwell on these feelings of appreciation throughout your day. It does not matter how small these feelings of appreciation may be. From the tiniest seeds of appreciation great things can arise. The vibratory state of appreciation, or gratitude, is an extraordinary antidote to emotional poisoning. We strongly suggest you cultivate this ally as you move through this next cycle of solar storms.

Finally, we are offering a sound meditation based on the heart chakra. This is from a previous Hathor Intensive. The first phase of this sound meditation rotates and activates energies within the heart chakra for the purpose of clearing. The second phase of the meditation is calming and nurturing. We believe you will find this sound meditation to be another helpful ally.

As you enter this new phase of solar storms understand that they are extraordinary opportunities for evolutionary advancement. They are also, paradoxically, fraught with dangers for devolution due to their intense nature. If you resist the energies of acceleration, you will experience great difficulties in this passage. If you embrace these energies and master them—finding a way to navigate through them with appreciation and a good dose of humor—you will find greater freedom. This freedom of which we speak is a freedom of the human spirit, mind and heart. It resides in a level of consciousness untouched by the dualities of your earthly existence.

Blessings

On awakening, bless this day, for it is already full of unseen good which your blessings will call forth; for to bless is to acknowledge the unlimited good that is embedded in the very texture of the universe and awaiting each and all.
On passing people in the street, on the bus, in places of work and play, bless them. The peace of your blessing will accompany them on their way and the aura of its gentle fragrance will be a light to their path.
On meeting and talking to people, bless them in their health, their work, their joy, their relationships to God, themselves, and others. Bless them in their abundance, their finances...bless them in every conceivable way, for such blessings not only sow seeds of healing but one day will spring forth as flowers of joy in the waste places of your own life.
As you walk, bless the city in which you live, its government and teachers, its nurses and street sweepers, its children and bankers, its priests and prostitutes. The minute anyone expresses the least aggression or unkindness to you, respond with a blessing: bless them totally, sincerely, joyfully, for such blessings are a shield which protects them from the ignorance of their misdeed, and deflects the arrow that was aimed at you.
To bless means to wish, unconditionally, total, unrestricted good for others and events from the deepest wellspring in the innermost chamber of your heart: it means to hallow, to hold in reverence, to behold with utter awe that which is always a gift from the Creator. He who is hallowed by your blessing is set aside, consecrated, holy, whole. To bless is to invoke divine care upon, to think or speak gratefully for, to confer happiness upon - although we ourselves are never the bestower, but simply the joyful witnesses of Life's abundance.
To bless all without discrimination of any sort is the ultimate form of giving, because those you bless will never know from whence came the sudden ray of sun that burst through the clouds of their skies, and you will rarely be a witness to the sunlight in their lives.
When something goes completely askew in your day, some unexpected event knocks down your plans and you too also, burst into blessing: for life is teaching you a lesson, and the very event you believe to be unwanted, you yourself called forth, so as to learn the lesson you might balk against were you not to bless it. Trials are blessings in disguise, and hosts of angels follow in their path.
To bless is to acknowledge the omnipresent, universal beauty hidden to material eyes; it is to activate that law of attraction which, from the furthest reaches of the universe, will bring into your life exactly what you need to experience and enjoy.
When you pass a prison, mentally bless its inmates in their innocence and freedom, their gentleness, pure essence and unconditional forgiveness; for one can only be prisoner of one's self-image, and a free man can walk unshackled in the courtyard of a jail, just as citizens of countries where freedom reigns can be prisoners when fear lurks in their thoughts.
When you pass a hospital, bless its patients in their present wholeness, for even in their suffering, this wholeness awaits in them to be discovered. When your eyes behold a man in tears, or seemingly broken by life, bless him in his vitality and joy: for the material senses present but the inverted image of the ultimate splendor and perfection which only the inner eye beholds.
It is impossible to bless and to judge at the same time. So hold constantly as a deep, hallowed, intoned thought that desire to bless, for truly then shall you become a peacemaker, and one day you shall, everywhere, behold the very face of God.
And of course, above all, don’t forget to bless the utterly beautiful person YOU are!

Beauty
unravels the Soul . . .

A blessing for solitude

May you recognize in your life the presence,
power and light of your soul.
May you realize that you are never alone,
that your soul in its brightness and belonging
Connects you intimately with the rhythm of the Universe.
May you have respect for your individuality and difference.
May you realize that the shape of your soul is unique,
that you have a special destiny here
That behind the facade of your life there is something
 beautiful and eternal happening.
May you learn to see yourself with the same delight,
 pride and expectation
With which God sees you in every moment."

Blessing be upon you

One thing I seek to point out to you: humility must always accompany a spiritual self-respect which forbids a disciple to stand anywhere upon the Path, except in his rightful place. DINA1 562.

Consecrated Effort
Patience
Solemnity
Reverence
Humility

Inner Quiet
Tread with care

   I play my part with stern resolve, with earnest aspiration;
   I look above, I help below; I dream not, nor I rest;
   I toil; I serve; I reap; I pray;
   I am the Cross; I am the Way;
   I tread upon the work I do; I mount upon my slain self;
I kill desire, and I strive, forgetting all reward.
I forego peace; I forfeit rest,
and in the stress of pain I lose myself
and find Myself and enter into peace.

Go against the flo~w ,
     Think [outside] the box,
Get out of fixed paradigms…

Alongside our natural ability to empathize with others, we also have a need for others’ kindness, which runs like a thread throughout our whole life. It is most apparent when we are young and when we are old, but we have only to fall ill to be reminded how important it is to be loved and cared about, even in our prime years.

Skipping Tru Life

Skipping through the day, skipping from yesterday, skipping through the moments that make up time, skipping in the NOW, skipping to tomorrow and into worlds unknown, experiences untold, revelations new... I am just skipping through - AS I WATCH MYSELF SKIPPING THROUGH.  A wayfarer, a voyager, an explorer exploring space and time, an initiator initiating new experiences, a discoverer discovering new discoveries. Skipping... skipping... skipping...

In the depths of Being
I sense my Self.
In deepest silence ...
stillness ...
I touch my Essence.

In a breathless tension
I perceive
A Wholeness
That lays hidden within
in repose.

I get out of my way
beyond mundane self-ish issues
in silence
within I go
and know!

Know that everything that happens in my life is as per my soul plan. People, events, circumstances are but instruments and means by which I experience all self chosen experiences. Nothing happens because someone did something to me rather they were the instruments by which I had happen to me what was meant to happen that I may experience, learn, grow and know my Self thereby. So for all experiences I am thankful for the light that has increased in me, for the beauty that has unfolded in me, for the love that has grown in me, for the compassion that has arisen in me. For this I am deeply grateful and hold no malice towards anyone.

Blue dragonfly in the canal system in Bangkok. Jan 2011

Beauty shines forth in myriad ways; if we look closely we'll see it everywhere.

View from the plane - trip to Bangkok - Jan 2011.

Life flows. I flow with life. Up and down...unresisting...to accept what is. At times I am up, at times I am down. Always I try and remember I am not this. I am witnessing this. Yet all is as it should be. All IS now.

We hear so many doomsday stories and often wonder what life is all about. Not interested in anything and tired of sensory indulgences ... food, tv, paces and places, spiritual pursuits -everything seems to draw a blank. The psychiatrist would say it is depression. Rather something is missing in life. The mind needs something to do to keep itself occupied. Life, then, is bearable. When we come to the end of desires; to keep on keeping at the same old pastimes we are really in no-man's land - a place where we are neither here nor there - not here on Earth's playground yet haven't quite crossed over to spiritual pastures of heavenly bliss or whatever that state happens to be. This transition phase can be unsettling and one becomes moody and broody (my word) and up and down. All sagacious today and all gloomy tomorrow. Such is life. We walk the paces and trudge on regardless...
