April is Autism Awareness Month


I salute parents of autistic children
Who have walked that extra mile with their child.
Who have not given up, not given in to despair,
But trudge onwards,
Advocates...teachers...guides...guardian angels
To their children
In their hour of need
As they journey together
The unresearched terrain
Of Autism.

We learn lessons in Courage
We learn lessons in Empathy
We learn lessons in Love
We learn lessons in Understanding
We learn lessons in truly Caring
To be a parent of a Special Needs Person
Calls us to take that extra mile
Down the Road of Life.
