What is going on?

Everyone is chasing after something or other in life. Some are chasing after dreams, a great job, knowledge, money, the opposite sex, possessions, spiritual illumination, religious dogma, position and power, status. There are new agers chasing after psychic abilities, there are the more down to earth types chasing after conspiracy theories, trying to dig out the truth about inner earth, ufos, illuminati agendas, out of the ordinary happenings trying to get out of the box they have been ingeniously imprisoned in. There are those trying to think outside the box, get past set paradigms, discover the undiscovered, the potentialities, the sky and the hollow earth is the limit...there are those of us who blink bewildered at all of this. What is really going on?

Why this need to know now? Lifetimes spent in pursuit of this and that and all to what avail? It seems to me that we are scratching the surface of a coin. All of these pursuits keep us occupied and not attending. What is all this diverting our attention from?
