The hummingbird is quite unlike other birds.
It has a short tail and when in flight its body
does look oddly un-birdly. I was wondering
if it did not look more like an insect as I was
watching a documentary about it. And soon
enough the commentator went on to describe
its insect like wing flight patterns. It uses its
wings like an insect in ways other birds don't.
".... its flight is accomplished with the body
structure of a bird but some of the aerodynamic
tricks of an insect..."
