As I was enjoying my chicken briyani I reminded myself [so as not to be so attached] that I am a Soul having a physical experience of eating a chicken after kicking its Soul out of its body and cooking its carcass ... hmmm ... that kind of put things into perspective. What am I about? What is this earth life all about? How sound are all of its spiritual ideologies? We buy into it without even thinking through. If it is spiritual it must be right. Now expanding on this topic then ok I won't eat chicken. Then what? Can eat plants? Don't they feel? Experiments have proven that that they do - just a thought of cutting them makes them cringe. Ok I won't eat plants. Then, eat what? Answer this and I will follow you to Earth's End...

On Completely Letting Go [Dr. David Hawkins, I: Reality and
Subjectivity]
"People
wonder, "How does one reach this state of awareness," but few follow
the steps because they are so simple.
First, the desire to reach that state was intense. Then
began the discipline to act with constant and universal forgiveness and
gentleness, without exception. One has to be compassionate towards everything,
including one's own self and thoughts.
Next came a willingness to hold desires in abeyance
and surrender personal will at every moment. As each thought, feeling, desire,
or deed was surrendered to God, the mind became progressively silent. At first,
it released whole stories and paragraphs, then ideas and concepts. As one lets
go of wanting to own these thoughts, they no longer reach such elaboration and
begin to fragment while only half formed.
Finally, it was possible to turn over the energy
behind thought itself before it even became thought."
